Saxon Motorcycles Europe Launches The Henchman

My European readers will soon have a new bike to choose from to ride legally the EEC roads. During Austria Bike week, Saxon Motorcycles Europe presented their new model named the “Henchman”.  This new old school style bike is a hardtail in the bobber-style, equipped with a 96” (1566cc) S&S engine, a 200 rear tire, 6-speed transmission, Brembo brakes and a spring seat. Optionally the Henchman can be equipped with a Springer front end and the dealer can provide the seat with shocks or even a pneumatic seating system. Saxon aims to obtain the European Type Approval for the Henchman this year, so the bikes should be available in Europe and Switzerland before we transit to 2009. All Saxon bikes have a 2-year factory warranty. Saxon Motorcycles Europe.

Hope that they (Saxon) jumped through all of the hoops that are required here in Europe so that the bike is legal so when the owners get them inspected every year they pass. I am stationed over here in Europe (Germany) and they are REALLY strict with vehicles, seems like Europe (At least Germany) is more strict than the US as far as modifications/alterations go. Hope that the bike is a success for them.

Wow, I really hope they send that one down to my local Saxon dealer here in Australia. If it meets Euro requirements it should meet AU requirements.

Nice bike, but from someone in the USA it’s basic. Obviously, I’m ignorant as to the restrictions abroad. This confirms to me that being a biker in the US is a priviledge that is often taken for granted.
